Personal Development
Personal Development
At Baskerville School, we believe that personal development is an important part of every pupil’s education. We provide opportunities for pupils to develop confidence, independence and a positive sense of self, while recognising and celebrating their individual strengths, interests and achievements.
Our personal development programme supports pupils to develop the skills they need to become as independent as possible and to participate positively in school and the wider community. Through a range of learning experiences, pupils are encouraged to develop communication, social and emotional skills, make choices, take responsibility and build resilience.
We place a strong emphasis on preparing pupils for life beyond school. Pupils are supported to develop practical life skills, understand relationships, make safe and informed choices, and develop an awareness of the wider world. Learning is adapted to individual needs and abilities so that every pupil can make meaningful progress towards their personal goals.
We also provide opportunities for pupils to discover new interests, take part in enrichment activities and experience success outside the classroom. These experiences help pupils build confidence, develop positive relationships and recognise their own achievements. Our aim is for every pupil to leave Baskerville School with greater independence, self-belief and the skills to take their next steps with confidence.
