At Baskerville SEN School, we believe that achievement looks different for every pupil. Our approach focuses on recognising individual strengths, celebrating progress and ensuring that every pupil is supported to achieve their personal potential. We set ambitious but realistic goals that reflect each pupil’s needs, abilities, interests and aspirations.

Pupils are supported to make meaningful progress across their academic, social, emotional and personal development. We carefully monitor progress and use assessment information to identify strengths, areas for development and the support each pupil needs to continue moving forward. Success is celebrated at every stage, whether this is developing a new skill, achieving greater independence, improving communication or making progress within a curriculum subject.

We place a strong emphasis on preparing pupils for their next steps. Through personalised learning, practical experiences and opportunities to develop independence, pupils build the knowledge, skills and confidence they need for life beyond school. Where appropriate, pupils are supported to develop their understanding of employment, further education, community participation and independent living.

We are proud of the progress and achievements of our pupils and recognise that each success is an important milestone. By working in partnership with pupils, families, staff and external professionals, we aim to ensure that every pupil is encouraged, challenged and supported to reach their individual goals.
