Pathways
At Baskerville School, our curriculum is carefully designed around three distinct pathways, Discoverer, Explorer and Voyager, ensuring that every student can access learning that is meaningful, appropriately challenging and aligned to their individual stage of development and learning needs. The curriculum is delivered across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 within each pathway, enabling students to follow a personalised learning journey while maintaining clear progression and continuity as they move through the school. Each pathway is structured into two strands, providing a graduated approach that supports individualisation, achievement and ambitious outcomes for all learners. This design ensures that students develop the knowledge, skills and independence needed for their next stage of education, adulthood and life beyond Baskerville School.
The Discoverer pathway offers an informal and semi-formal approach, focusing on early communication, engagement and life skills through sensory experiences, exploration and supported learning.
The Explorer pathway bridges into more structured learning through semi-formal and formal strands, introducing subject-specific content while continuing to develop independence, knowledge and key functional skills.
The Voyager pathway provides a formal and formal plus curriculum, supporting pupils to achieve accredited outcomes, develop specialisms, and prepare for further education, employment and independent adult life.
Together, these pathways ensure a clear progression route for all pupils, enabling them to build confidence, independence and the skills needed for life beyond Baskerville School.
