Support, challenge and accountability

The role of our governors

Governors provide strategic oversight, support and challenge. They review the work of school leaders, scrutinise the use of resources and approve school policies. Leaders are responsible for the school’s day-to-day management and putting improvement plans into practice.

An experienced Chair and Vice-Chair were appointed in September 2026. The Vice-Chair has begun safeguarding monitoring, including a visit to meet the safeguarding team.

Our next steps include broadening governor monitoring, developing the Board’s skills and following agreed actions through. We will evaluate the effectiveness of these arrangements over time.
