Families bring essential knowledge about their child. We draw on this when

planning support, reviewing progress and understanding changes in how a

pupil is feeling or taking part.

Transition into Baskerville is currently planned through contact with previous

Settings, visits, information sharing and opportunities to settle in. Preparation

for future transitions is part of our focus on adulthood and independence.

If you have a concern about your child’s learning, communication or wellbeing,

Please speak to their class teacher or pathway lead so we can consider the

next steps together.

Respect and opportunity

A place for every pupil

We want every pupil to have access to learning, relationships, enrichment and wider school life. We consider the barriers faced by individual pupils, including disadvantage, attendance difficulties and changing family circumstances.

For pupils eligible for Pupil Premium, support is increasingly focused on barriers such as communication, literacy, sensory needs, engagement and attendance. We are strengthening how we evaluate the difference this support makes.

Where pupils are supported by social care or other agencies, we bring together education, safeguarding, attendance and wellbeing information to help coordinate support.

Respect for difference is part of belonging. Through our curriculum and everyday interactions, we support pupils’ understanding of others, represent different experiences and challenge discriminatory language sensitively and appropriately.
