We've achieved the Bronze Inclusive Attendance Standard

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are delighted to share some fantastic news: Baskerville School has achieved the Bronze Inclusive Attendance Standard.

This is a lovely recognition of our work to support inclusive attendance and, most importantly, to work alongside our pupils and families to help every young person engage with school successfully.

Thank you to our pupils, parents and carers, and to our staff team for the part you all play in this work. We are really pleased to have achieved Bronze and will now continue building on this as we work towards Silver.

Our approach to attendance

At Baskerville School, attendance is a priority that runs through every part of our school improvement work. Our approach centres on the child, draws on evidence-informed practice, and is built on a shared understanding of the role everyone plays – pupils, families and staff – in helping each young person attend, engage and thrive.

We use the Inclusive Attendance Model, the first and only accredited programme that sets out a pedagogy of practice for attendance, to support our children and families to connect, belong and thrive.

The model's six learning modules give all of our staff ongoing professional learning. They cover four areas of practice – professional learning, professional development, evidence-based practice, and leadership and management – so that what we learn turns into what we do every day.
