Continuing to improve

More time learning, with the right support

Our 2025/26 review showed a small improvement in overall attendance. Severe absence remains a significant concern and a priority for improvement. We are continuing to strengthen support, prevent incidents and evaluate the difference our actions make for pupils.

Improve access to education

Focus on pupils missing substantial time from school, with individual support and careful review of any reduced timetable.

Prevent difficulties escalating

Use what we learn from individual pupils and incidents to strengthen early support and reduce the need for restrictive intervention.

Check that support is working

Review changes in attendance, engagement and wellbeing, so leaders and governors can evaluate impact and identify what needs to improve.
