Working directly with employers gives students the opportunity to learn from professionals, explore career pathways and develop the skills needed for future employment. Through hands-on projects and workplace engagement activities, students gain valuable insight into real industries and the opportunities available within them.
FIRST UK Robotics Project
Employer Partnership | Application
Students took part in a year-long robotics project in partnership with FIRST UK, working collaboratively to design, build and develop a functioning robot. Throughout the project, students explored engineering concepts, problem-solving techniques and the importance of teamwork when working towards a shared goal.

The project provided valuable exposure to STEM-related careers and helped students understand how technology, engineering and innovation are used in real-world industries. Seeing the robot develop over time gave students a real sense of achievement and an understanding of how large projects are planned and delivered.

Tilbury Douglas Visits
Workplace Engagement | Careers Exploration
Students worked with Tilbury Douglas, the construction company currently building our school, as part of an ongoing employer engagement programme. These sessions gave students the opportunity to learn directly from professionals working in the construction industry and understand the wide range of careers involved in large-scale building projects.

Students learned about the construction process, the different jobs involved in delivering major projects and the importance of teamwork, planning and safety in the workplace. These experiences helped students connect classroom learning to real-world careers while raising aspirations for future employment pathways.
We look forward to continuing this partnership and providing students with even more opportunities to engage with Tilbury Douglas as the school build progresses.
