At Baskerville School, our curriculum is underpinned by a commitment to preparing pupils for life beyond school. Our curriculum is dedicated to meeting the unique needs of each individual pupil. 

Our philosophy embraces flexibility, ensuring that pupils can access a wide range of meaningful and purposeful experiences throughout their time at Baskerville. Learning pathways are carefully designed so that each pupil follows a personalised route—Discoverer, Explorer or Voyager—that has the greatest impact on their development. 
A child-centred approach is at the heart of our practice, providing opportunities for pupils to build confidence, independence and essential life skills through a broad, balanced, adapted and creative curriculum. Practical, hands-on learning and interactive experiences are highly valued, and educational visits enrich and extend learning beyond the classroom. 

Through our curriculum, we strive to ensure every pupil develops a strong sense of self-worth, alongside an understanding of responsibility, self-discipline and aspiration for their future. We actively promote ambitious life outcomes, supporting pupils to prepare for further education, employment and active participation in their communities. 

We set high expectations for all learners and use robust assessment approaches to monitor progress and ensure learning remains relevant and personalised. Our curriculum planning reflects each pupil’s individual needs and EHCP outcomes, supporting progression and success at every stage of their journey.
